Leg Mating Units.
Together with ORCA Offshore, we developed a new type of LMU for the float-over of the LAM-E topside. Unlike existing designs, this design allows for direct welding of the topside to the jacket after being set down.
The phase whereby the topside is lowered by sand-jacks or equivalent equipment has been eliminated, saving valuable installation time.
The LMU is built with standard rubber elements, standard steel pipe and flush steel plates. As a result, the LMU has a short lead time and can be supplied at a competitive price.
